As you get to know me, you will find out that I am a big kid at heart at times….. which is why I wanted to try out one of the Waterparks on the island.
There were a few to choose from, however we decided on the Western Water Park which is located just outside of Magaluf. It is really easy to get to, either by a local taxi or local bus.
We pre booked our tickets which meant that we avoided the long queues for tickets, so we got straight in there! They hire out lockers for 13 euros (when you return the key you get 5 euros back) and they also have options to pay for fast track bands if the park is particularly busy that day.
There were different sections of the park that offered various slides to suit ages and likes. You had the children section for babies and toddlers to enjoy with small slides and paddling pool areas, there was a section for slightly older children with bigger slides but not the normal size for an adult and then finally, various adult slides that offered fast adrenaline experiences.
There was something for everyone …. and if you felt tired then you could hire a sun lounger for 5 euros for the day to relax in the sun.
When you want to grab a bite to eat, then they do have a food and drinks area which offer soft and alcoholic drinks along with food offerings such as hot dogs, burgers, salads and kids meals. Meals cost around 10-15 euros.
If you’re like me and dread the thought of bringing up my lunch half way down a slide, then I would say make the most of the lazy river. This is the perfect afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and to rest before the adrenaline from the rides begin again.
Overall, a great day out to the waterpark with plenty of slides for all ages, reasonable dining area and a fun day for the whole family. I recommend you get there when they open to avoid long queues or purchase the Fast pass band.
